The Shepherd Who Provides
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.
Psalm 23:1
David wrote these words as someone who knew sheep. Sheep depend completely on the shepherd for food, water, safety and direction. When David says “I shall not want”, he is not claiming he will get everything he wishes for. He is saying that under this Shepherd’s care he will not lack anything he truly needs.
Many of us carry a quiet fear of not having enough — money, time, strength or love. Bring that fear to the Shepherd today. He knows the path ahead, and he has already gone before you.
Today, name one need you are worried about and hand it to God in prayer.
