Trust With All Your Heart
Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Proverbs 3:5-6
Trusting God with part of our heart is easy. We trust him with the things we cannot control and keep a firm grip on the things we think we can manage. Proverbs calls us deeper: trust with all your heart.
Leaning is what we do when we are tired — we put our weight on something. The question is not whether we will lean, but on what. Our understanding sees a small part of the story; God sees all of it.
Today, ask God about one decision you have been making on your own.
Prayer
Father, I choose to lean on you and not on my own understanding. Direct my steps today, in the big decisions and the small ones. Amen.
