Plans for Peace

For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end.

Jeremiah 29:11

These words were first written to people in exile, far from home. God did not promise an instant rescue — the exile would last seventy years. But he did promise that his thoughts toward them were thoughts of peace.

This verse is not a guarantee that life will be easy. It is an assurance that God’s intentions toward his people are good, even in seasons of waiting.

In the same chapter God tells the exiles to build houses and plant gardens. Hope does not put life on hold. It lives faithfully where you are and trusts God with where you are going.

Prière

Thank you, Father, that your thoughts toward me are good. Help me to live faithfully today and to trust you with my future. Amen.
