Peace Instead of Worry

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

Philippians 4:6-7

Paul wrote these words from prison, not from a comfortable home. He does not simply say “stop worrying” — he gives us somewhere to take our worry: prayer, with thanksgiving.

Every anxious thought can become a prayer, and thanksgiving reminds us how faithful God has been before. Then comes the promise: a peace we cannot explain stands guard over our hearts and minds.

Right now, turn today’s biggest worry into a short prayer, then thank God for one thing he has already done for you.

Prayer

Father, I bring you my worries. Thank you for your faithfulness. Guard my heart and mind with your peace today. Amen.
