Be Strong and Courageous

Joshua was stepping into huge shoes. Three times in this chapter God tells him to be strong and of a good courage — which tells us Joshua was afraid.

Courage is not the absence of fear. It is moving forward in obedience while fear is still speaking. And the reason for Joshua’s courage was not his experience; it was God’s presence.
